About me

I completed my doctorate in Biomedical Sciences from Ohio State University in the summer of 2023. During my time at OSU, I worked in the lab of Dr. Jacob Yount investigating innate immune proteins that are frequently upregulated during virus infection. While my area of expertise (and this blog) has historically been concentrated within the fields of Microbiology and Immunology, I am also very passionate about other areas of science including efforts to increase ecosystem conservation and combat climate change. Outside of science, I enjoy hiking and running with my dog, baking and trying to catch up on sleep.

This blog has remained with my throughout my graduate studies and while I continue to debate its real format and goal, I unfortunately also find myself unable to part with it. I suppose this is the curse of being a sentimental magpie
